Privacy Policy — GeoG
Last updated: June 24, 2026
GeoG ("the app") is a geography game with leaderboards and multiplayer matches. This policy explains what data we collect and how it is used.
Data we collect
- Account: email address and password (encrypted), to create and secure your account.
- Profile: username, optional profile picture, and gameplay stats (matches, ELO score, rankings).
- Game data: match results, invitations and multiplayer history.
- Usage and diagnostics data: usage events (screens viewed, games started, in-app actions) tied to an internal identifier, and error/crash reports. This data does not contain sensitive personal information.
How we use data
Data is used to operate the app (authentication, leaderboards, matchmaking, profile display) and to understand how the app is used and fix bugs, in order to improve it. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Hosting
Data is stored and processed via Supabase, our database and authentication provider.
Analytics and diagnostics
To understand app usage and improve reliability, we use:
- PostHog — product analytics (usage events, aggregated statistics), hosted in the European Union.
- Sentry — error and crash reporting, hosted in the European Union.
These services process an internal identifier and technical data (device type, app version), with no advertising or resale.
PostHog analytics also covers the playgeog.com website (pages viewed, referring page). It stores an anonymous identifier in your browser's local storage and a cookie, solely to count visits; the data is collected through our own domain and stays hosted in the European Union.
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the app: Profile → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. You may also contact us at the address below.
